Splendour In The Grass line up fake?

Is this the greatest line up to grace our fair country, or is this just some jerk with photoshopping skillz trying to make us cry? I’m kind of going to have to side with the latter.

The camera phone picture of the alleged Splendour 2011 line up was posted by user Sneaker1010 on FasterLouder’s Unofficial Splendour In The Grass forum.

With the picture, Sneaker1010 said:

“in my friend’s office, who is in same building as designers of this year’s splendour artwork + website. i have seen the 80% lineup confirmed and tried to take a picture.

i will def get in trouble for this: eek:”

For those who can’t read good, Splendour 2011 “Line Up”:

Radiohead
Arcade Fire
Kanye West
The Cure
Sonic Youth
Fleet Foxes
Arctic Monkeys
The Avalanches
The Decemberists
The Presets
Weezer
P.J Harvey
The Church
Santigold
Robyn
Missy Higgins
Foster The People
The Black Keys
Bag Raiders
The Jezabels
Itch-e and Scratch-e
Tim and Jean
Big Scary
Seekae
Oh Mercy
The Chemist
Guineafowl
Snowman
The Holidays
Jinja Safari
Wagons
Paul Simon
Pnau
The Living End
The Hives
Birds of Tokyo
Battles
Expatriate
The Honey Month
Seagull
Ball Park Music
M83
Gotye
Grace Woodroofe
Elbow
Ellie Goulding
The Panics
Janelle Monae
The Vacines
Royskop
The Grates
Surfer Blood
Drapht
Grouplove
Tennis
James Blake
Panda Bear
Freelance Whales
Akron/Family
Sparkadia
Delta Spirit
The Naked & Famous
Esben & The Witch
+ more to be announced

Yeah – A little ridiculous. But if it’s true it’s amazing. There is some merit to this though, as there is a heavy quota of Dew Process bands on the bill, like Delta Spirit, Grouplove & Freelance Whales, all who one would expect to populate the actual line up. I don’t know, Paul Simon and Kanye on the same bill? I’d say someone is on crack – Or it’s mock text.

What do you think?

Addition: Yep; it’s a fake. Promoters have denied the poster’s better-than-an-orgasm claims and even poked fun at its less than awesome design.

Promoters said in a statment:

“Aside from the alleged artwork looking terrible, at this point in time those speculating on line up have got it way wrong.”

Coachella 2011 line up announced

Holy galvanized steel Batman – this year’s Coachella line up is off the proverbial hook!

The three day festival held in Indio California from 15th-17th April 2011 will be host to some of the best damn indie artists gracing our radio at present. Want proof? Check out the mammoth line up poster!

Coachella 2011

So while the headliners are pretty good (or fucking awesome in Arcade Fire’s case) it’s the tail end that really gets my heart a-racin’. Bright Eyes, a reformed Death From Above 1979, Cold War Kids, Delta Spirit, Tallest Man On Earth, Mariachi El Bronx, Freelance Whales & The Strokes put the rad in radical.

Australia has made a pretty decent contribution to the line up this year with Cut Copy, Tame Impala, Gypsy & The Cat, Empire Of the Sun, The Presets & Angus & Julia Stone all representing the Green and Gold.

Arcade Fire release The Suburbs album details

Posted in New releases, News with tags on May 28, 2010 by keelykov

Arcade Fire have released a handwriten statement on their website following the leaking of two new tracks onto the internet yesterday. The tracks, The Suburbs & The Month Of May are both taken from the canadian band’s third full length album The Suburbs.

Arcade Fire

If your not versed in Arkady Fireovitch scrawl, don’t worry. The letter reads:

“We’re pretty much done with our new album. The home stretch! We’re very excited. It’s called The Suburbs and it comes out August 2nd or August 3rd depending on where you live. (Check local listings ho ho ho)

We’ve also got a 12″ single out now with the songs ‘The Suburbs’ and ‘Month of May’ – both from the aforementioned album. We didn’t press that many copies of the single, and we sent most of them to independent record stores. So I would check with them if you want to buy it. You can also buy digital versions of the songs from us if you like. Or if you wanna just hear the songs, you can hear them in full at our website on our magical fake record player thing.

Or if you pre-order the album at our site you can download both songs for free.

Phew! I think that’s it for now. Until next time, I remain yours fondly, Arkady Fireovitch.”

Arcade frie have also released the artwork for their new album, the Suburbs. Check it out!
