The Killers saxophonist found dead

The saxophonist for The Killers died earlier this week from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his head. He was only 33.

Thomas “Tommy” Marth, who was found dead in his Las Vegas home on Monday, played on tour with The Killers between 2008 and 2010 and played on their second and third albums “Sam’s Town” and “Day & Age”

His death has been ruled a suicide by officials in Clark County, Nevada

The Killers posted on their official Twitter account on Tuesday:

“Last night we lost our friend Thomas Marth. Our prayers are with his family. There’s a light missing in Las Vegas tonight. Travel well, Tommy.” 

New Video: The Killers – Boots

They may be on hiatus, but that doesn’t mean The Killers will break with tradition. For the fifth year in a row, Vegas’ golden boys have released a Christmas track.

This year’s track Boots is a tear-jerker about a homeless man spreading Christmas cheer through the power of karaoke.

The Killers announce Sydney sideshow

Las Vegas rockers The Killers have decided to treat their fans to an exclusive intimate show at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on 12 February 2010 to accompany their headlining slot in this years Good Vibrations Festival.

Comprising of frontman Brandon Flowers, bassist Mark Stoermer, guitarist Dave Keuning and drummer Ronnie Vannucci, The Killers have achieved both critical acclaim and commercial success around the globe. They have received seven Grammy nominations and won a variety of MTV and NME awards, gaining recognition for their ability to command entire arenas with incredible showmanship and musical prowess.

The band’s 2004 debut Hot Fuss quickly topped the charts with anthemic hits including “Somebody Told Me”, “Mr. Brightside” and “All These Things That I’ve Done”.
