Doves

What is going on? Does no one want to tour our fine country anymore? Doves, joining a disturbing trend, announced over the weekend they have been forced to cancel their forthcoming Australian tour.

Playground Touring confirmed today that Doves are unable to honour their touring commitment to Australia this February due to a personal matter within the band.

Official statement from the Doves:

We regret to announce that due to circumstances beyond our control we have been forced to cancel our forthcoming tour of Australia.

This is a decision we have not taken lightly and our sincere apologies go out to anyone who has bought tickets for the shows and for any inconvenience caused

Headline shows in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle have all been cancelled including their appearance at Playground Weekender festival.

Festival organisers plan to announce a replacement in the coming weeks.

Refunds for the Doves headline shows (only) will be available from the point of purchase.

CANCELLED AUSTRALIAN TOUR DATES:

Tuesday 15th February – Hi-Fi Bar, Brisbane
Thursday 17th February – Enmore Theatre, Sydney
Saturday 19th February – The Forum, Melbourne
Monday 21st February – Metropolis, Fremantle

Playground Weekender will go ahead in Wisemans Ferry 17-20 February. And it will still rock, and Lost In Suburbia will still be there covering every moment of it.

Kate Nash adds side shows to her Aussie tour

Kate Nash

Kate Nash has announced headline shows to accompany her spot at Playground Weekender, when she returns to Australia in support of her new album, My Best Friend Is You.

My Best Friend Is You progresses through grungy pop, steering you blissfully with catchy hooks and humourous lyrical narrative. The help of 60’s sounds of full brass pipes and twanging surf guitar show her diversity and ability to make poignant yet playful music. Often crude and clearly unafraid of a little bloodsport, Nash splashes playfully on the shores of innocence and idiosyncrasy.

Check her out on the following dates:

Wednesday 16th February – The Metro Theatre, Sydney
Tickets available through www.metrotheatre.com.au/events/metro

Friday 18th February – Billboard, Melbourne
